About Seemantham

A celebration of motherhood — catered with care.

Seemantham (also called Valaikappu) is a cherished South Indian ritual held in the 7th or 9th month of pregnancy to bless the mother-to-be. The function is intimate, auspicious and traditionally pure-vegetarian — and the food is at its heart.

Joy Events & Catering specialises in traditional Brahmin-style Seemantham menus served on banana leaves, with the classic rice varieties, kuzhambu, payasam and seasonal sweets your family expects.
